International Women’s Day 2022

This International Women’s Day, BWP once again reached out into the community to share the important #Breakthebias message.

An exhibition of art, poetry and paper butterflies at Stapleford Library which highlights domestic abuse was opened by the Mayor of Broxtowe to mark International Women’s Day.

The work on display includes writing and photography that will invite visitors to reflect on some of the stereotypes around Domestic Abuse.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrated with a group of very special people at The Venue, in Eastwood.

BWP staff and Trustees were joined by some incredible survivors of Domestic Abuse to celebrate the collective power of women, and look back on a  year of incredible achievements.

This included exhibitions at the National Justice Museum, fundraising events, a printed publication and  White Ribbon accreditation. But most importantly, our continued work supporting women, children and young people experiencing Domestic Abuse.

White Ribbon Ambassadors, the Mayor of Broxtowe Councillor Richard Macrae, Broxtowe Borough Council and local Community Police Officers also joined us.

Women also created new artwork for the event, including this purple rainbow.
