Join teams signed up for 18 holes that could change lives

Sixteen teams of keen golfers have already signed up for a fundraising 18 holes that could change lives in Nottingham, and you can still join them.

The Rotary Club of Beeston is still accepting entries for its 25th annual Charity Golf Day, which will be held on Wednesday 25 May at Beeston Fields Golf Club. It’s chosen charities for 2022 are Broxtowe Women’s Project (BWP) and Broxtowe Youth Homelessness.

Steve Diacon, President of Beeston Rotary, said: “It’s fantastic that our popular Charity Golf Day is back for 2022. After a break of two years, we know that many local people and organisations will see this as a fantastic opportunity to get back out there and support local charities while enjoying a day of exciting competition followed by a delicious three-course meal.

“There’s still time to sign up, so get in touch today.”

Chris Harris, Partnerships Manager for BWP which supports women, children and young people in Broxtowe who have experienced Domestic Abuse, said: “We’re really pleased that Rotary has chosen to support BWP through its annual Golf Day this year. When people can raise money for a local charity by enjoying a sporting day then truly everyone wins.

“We are also grateful to Lloyds Bank who are pledging to part-match the money raised. Every pound we receive will be used to help women, children and young people in Broxtowe recover from Domestic Abuse.”

Broxtowe Youth Homelessness added: “We are honoured that Beeston Rotary Club have chosen Broxtowe Youth Homelessness as one of the charities to benefit from their annual charity Golf Day.

“With the additional match funding from Lloyds Bank this day could make a big difference to the services Broxtowe Youth Homelessness and Broxtowe Women’s Project can deliver over the coming months.”

To enter the charity golf competition, please contact President Steve Diacon at diacon@aol.com . The entry fee for a team of four players is £200, and includes green fees, half-way house refreshments, and an evening dinner and prize giving.
