Pop-up Coffee Mornings Celebrate International Women’s Day
This March, Broxtowe Women’s Project will be popping up at cafes in Beeston, Chilwell and Kimberley to celebrate International Women’s Day wherever you are!
The charity had its first pop-up event at Beeston Canalside Heritage centre on 1 March 2023, where they talked about the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, Embrace Equity.
BWP’s Partnership Manager, Chris Harris, said: “This year, we wanted to reach more people than ever before to talk about how Equity is different to Equality. If we Embrace Equity, we recognise that we’re not all the same. We don’t all start out in the same place, so it’s important that we give each person what they need to be successful. Not just give everyone exactly the same things.”
To join BWP for coffee this International Women’s Day, they will be at Rumbletums Café in Kimblerley on Thursday 2nd March at 10.30am, Canvas & Coffee on Chilwell High Road on Wednesday 8 March at 9am and Beeston Youth & Community Centre on Wednesday 8 March from 10am to 12noon for a Taste of Equity event.
