Research has proven that reading a book has many benefits. It can…
- Reduce stress
- Help sleep readiness
- Fight depression symptoms
- Improve connectivity
- and much more….
As we continue in a lockdown reading is one of the things that we can do on our own in our own homes….. BUT it is nice to make it more inclusive and bring people together. This has passion has led to the BWP Reading Friends Group creating a Reading Challenge.
Below you will find a list of “themes”.
We challenge participants to choose a book from each of themes – it doesn’t have to be in order and there is no right or wrong way to choose, it is down to interpretation and preference.
Some of these themes could have lots of scope, for example:
- Gardening/plants: could be the basis for the story, in the title, the location or tips on how to look after your garden
- Historical: could be a book set in the past, written by a historical author or a non-fiction book on history.
Along the challenge the Reading Friends will share recommendations on books they’ve enjoyed and their personal reviews (these will be added below each item in the list).
We would love to hear your thoughts on what you are reading!
The goal for this challenge is to connect with others, boost wellbeing and find new books that you enjoy. Ultimately, we hope to be able to meet in person when the restrictions are lifted and swap books, talk about what we have enjoyed (or not enjoyed!) and start discussions. That is what Reading Friends is about….
